Welcome to the website for the Valley Ridge District
of the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
As we migrate the Roanoke/Staunton website (RoanokeStaunton.org) to the new Valley Ridge website (ValleyRidgeUMC.org) you may experience short periodic outages from July 1 until July 14, 2022. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Valley Ridge District connects members of 143 United Methodist Churches in Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Highland, Montgomery, Roanoke, Rockbridge, and Rockingham Counties and the cities and towns of Buena Vista, Clifton Forge, Covington, Lexington, Roanoke, Salem, Staunton, and Waynesboro with the Virginia Annual Conference, the United Methodist Church, and the World in ministry to others on behalf of Christ.
The clergy and laity of the Roanoke and Staunton Districts are supervised by a Conference-appointed District Superintendent. The Virginia Conference is composed of eight districts serving over 1,200 local United Methodist congregations across most of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Everywhere I go, I am asked by laity and clergy alike “What is it like having two districts?” or more commonly, “How are you handling two districts?” or occasionally “So are you like crazy or something?”
